The PLM journey is complex and often the most important step is the selection of your PLM development partner. Our experience makes it possible to keep things simple, personal and accessible so that together we transform your vision into value.

What is TECHNIA's approach to delivering PLM?

Step 1: The engagement process
Step 2: Preparing for transition
Step 3: Unambiguous agreed requirements setting
Step 4: Your new PLM system roll-out
Step 5: Discovery and optimisation

Our PLM solutions help customers improve productivity, enhance service/product quality, strengthen stakeholder relationships, resolve challenges and realise opportunities by demonstrating a deep understanding of their businesses, by sharing responsibility for the outcome of delivered solutions and creating sustainable competitive advantages.

Step 1: The Engagement Process

With over 30 years’ experience, more than 6000 Customers worldwide and world-class knowledge in PLM, we work together as an extension of your team to create an exceptional PLM experience. For our project work we exploit the standard PRINCE 2 project management methodology. We also rely heavily on our ears.

Long before contracts are signed we like to invest time in understanding your business. This includes discussions on which metrics you need to achieve to represent success, how we can optimise existing processes, and how we can inject world-class best practices to exceed your metrics.  When you are totally satisfied that we understand your business and can meet your needs, we exchange paperwork.

Step 2: Preparing for Transition

A significant element of implementing PLM revolves around change management. We work closely and inclusively with you to appreciate the diversity of the unique issues that change could cause within your organisation. In this way, we can minimize or negate any adverse reactions and ensure a smooth transition to your new processes.

Targeting your change/improvement goals, we continue the learning process that started during engagement. We are always looking for opportunities to share our experience to unlock hidden opportunities to streamline operations. We have always found this to be a very positive process as stakeholders engage at all levels and begin to appreciate the benefits they will experience in their specific role.

Step 3: Unambiguous Agreed Requirements Setting

Now that every element of how you currently work has been identified and mapped, key processes have to be identified and prioritised. These will then be re-mapped into the new PLM system to meet KPIs and business improvement objectives.

You will be able to rely on our knowledge and experience of the software, its engineering application that we experience daily in our own business, and the expansive knowledge gained through working with leading companies across the world. With a clear, unambiguous and mutually agreed project delivery plan we are ready to proceed to the next stage – Roll Out.

Step 4: Your New PLM System Roll-Out

There are a number of key elements within the roll out; hardware & software, process & procedure, knowledge & skill development, and last but no means least people. Communication, both internal and external is critical to ensure all stake holders and direct participants understand what is expected of them and when. Sharing a preview of the new business environment supported by PLM helps everyone see how they will soon be working and short circuits the adoption process.

Some level of disruption may be inevitable, though we aim to minimise this by working in parallel. It will however be agreed and communicated in advance, where possible, to create the most seamless switchover as possible.

We follow a Discover, Educate and Empower process within our training regime that is delivered by experienced engineers who work within our own engineering business when not involved in customer projects. We believe our trainers, motivated by a diverse and interesting day at the office, are second to none. This is reflected in the quality of the training experience and the feedback we receive from our customers.

Supporting our Empowerment process we are able to deploy engineering resources as pre-agreed to make sure your new processes and up-skilled team perform in the shortest possible time.

During the Roll-Out we track performance levels to ensure you achieve the end results that you expect, culminating in a report that includes actual results against the initial required and agreed output.

Step 5: Discovery and Optimisation

From the first engagement, the partnership between TECHNIA and your business will evolve. From day one, information is discovered, shared and managed to extract new business improvement that will be delivered by the new PLM system. External to the project, business as usual continues but the working environment evolves; software, hardware and processes continue to improve.

The discovery and optimisation step starts at the beginning of the project and is used to enhance the delivery throughout. At the completion of the project it evolves into a lifelong support and development process. This makes sure that you always have the option to adopt any or all of the improvements that can further enhance your PLM as and when it suits your business to do so.
