The online Abaqus for Composites course will be run over a course of 5 weeks which will consist of weekly 2 hour lectures. Each lecture will include the lecture itself, demonstrations with time for questions from the delegates. Additional workshops will be provided for the delegates to conduct in their own time with email support & mentoring available for any questions.

About this course

Duration:

5 weekly 2 hour sessions

Course Objective:

Composite material systems offer many advantages in high performance and extreme engineering applications, but unsurprisingly their simulation comes with an additional knowledge and experience overhead.  In this comprehensive on-line course Rob Done uses his extensive experience, both in academia and industry, to teach attendees the whole range of composite simulation concepts from simple layer by layer workflows to the multiscale approaches which are currently being developed by SIMULIA.

The course also covers the application of XFEM and the modelling and investigation of interfacial behaviour.  The course follows on from the successful online scripting course in the way it uses a combination of online lectures, tutorial examples and individual learning support for delegates.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Elastic behaviour
  • Ply failure
  • Interface failure
  • Multiscale modelling
  • XFEM

Who Should Attend?

Users with basic knowledge of Abaqus/CAE Abaqus/Viewer

The course overview provides details of the topics covered in each lecture. Please note that the actual course agenda may vary depending on location.
